Golf Injuries

Picture this: you’re on the golf course, enjoying a beautiful day and feeling confident about your game. You tee off on a long par 4, and as you follow through on your swing, you feel a sharp pain in your elbow. Suddenly, your confidence is shattered and your enjoyment of the game is replaced by frustration and discomfort.

Unfortunately, this scenario is all too familiar for many golfers, as golf-related injuries and pain can affect players of all skill levels. If you’ve ever experienced discomfort or pain while playing golf, you’re not alone.

A Personal Message from Dr. Tyler Sinda PT, DPT, FAAOMPT:

“As a physical therapist who works with many golfers, I understand how frustrating it can be to experience pain and discomfort while playing the sport you love.

Whether your back tightens up on the back 9, elbow pain at impact, hip pain with your follow through or shoulder pain with your follow through, these are areas that make the round of golf irritating. Golf is a frustrating sport as is and adding pain on top is not ideal.

When it comes to pain with the golf swing, everybody we see wants the answers to these questions:

Many people suffer unnecessarily from pain with golfing because they’re told…

At Scottsdale Physical Therapy & Performance, We Help Golfers get back on the course.

If you are experiencing pain while playing golf, it can be challenging to know what to do. If you have yet to go to a provider well-versed in golf, you’ve probably heard options like:

It can be overwhelming to choose from all the options. What if you don’t make the right choice?

People get stuck trying to decide what to do next. People can go weeks, months, or even years without making a decision. So they don’t take action.

When It Comes To Solving an Injury from Golfing…

It is essential to choose the right provider for your health. We suggest someone who is well-versed in golf and knows how to rehab you as a golfer but, more importantly, AS AN INDIVIDUAL.

If not, you could get dangerous surgery, even if unnecessary, or become dependent on addictive painkillers for the rest of your life. Finding the most natural, non-invasive treatment that will stop your pain from returning is vital. A plan that prevents the pain and keeps it away.

You need to be able to treat the pain but also have a provider willing to explain why the pain occurred. Only then is when you will find a permanent solution to your problems.

If You're Currently Golfing with Pain, Here's 7 Reasons Why It Could Be Lasting Longer Than It Should:

  1. You Thought it would go away on it’s own – but it didn’t
  2. You went to the Doctor who told you to rest and take pain killers and all it did was “mask” the pain
  3. A family member, or friend, told you everybody gets pain as they get older, so you just accepted it.
  4. You sought help from other Health Care Providers but nothing they said or did seemed to help
  5. You’ve tried to change the swing only to have the same pain and higher score
  6. You thought it would be a good idea to rest because it felt irritated but it still irritates you daily
  7. You tried a few videos on Youtube or Instagram – but they felt irritating and did nothing to ease the pain.

If any of these have happened to you – we would love to help you. We invite you to speak with one of our Therapists in Scottsdale to find out what can be done.

The fact you have already tried some or all of these is actually a GOOD thing because when we know what doesn’t work – you are closer to finding the thing that does!
